Q: What do you think about the future of ChatGPT Plugins after developing 10+ products? Are you still excited about this ecosystem/model?
A: I think it will be pure supply and demand. Not much supply, but a lot of demand currently, even though Plugins haven’t been opened up beyond Beta Testers and paid Plus users. That demand will only increase when it’s opened up to all. Then there will be a flood of junk Plugins, that will make it hard to rank or get users.

Q: How do you feel about the developer experience of building, launching, and operating plugins?
A: The documentation is pretty shallow and requires some assumed knowledge. The official forum is scarce with people who know what to do — I guess we are all searching at the same time. But once you know the process of deploying is quite easy and straightforward.

Q: Do you have any tooling needs/problems which you wish were solved by someone else?
A: No, originally it was analytics, but I’ve solved that. I’d love to know how many users ChatGPT has.

Q: What is your position on monetization, in general? (I know that some people are against the idea of making profit from their work.)
A: “Yes” to profit.

Q: How would you like to monetize your plugins?
A: Currently using them as lead gen. That will likely change to profit when supply increases.

Q: What do you think about ads in plugins?
A: As in run by OpenAI?

Q: Would you be interested in trying ads by serving them to a fraction of your audience for ~$1 per click?
A: If it’s run by OpenAI, they can do whatever they need to do.
